Yusupov Palace
Houses incredible interiors, in-house theater, in-house art gallery, the Oak Cabinet, the Gobelen Room, the Porcelain Boudoir, very rare pink pear tree furniture in the Old Count’s Cabinet, the Moorish Room with onyx bath, and the young Count Felix Yusupovs’ quarters, where Grigori Rasputin was killed by Felix and his four comrades in December 1916.
Schtieglits Academy
The academy is a big impressive building, donated to the city in the 1880s, by the German businessman Schtieglits, who’s passion was art and support of talented youth. He founded the Academy of Applied Art, where future artists and restorers(a job in great demand at the city museum) were trained. Interesting samples of furniture, jewellery, glass, pottery of student designs.
